As I'm sitting in waiting room 7 in the morning, 3rd floor, I went to get a cup of coffee...Umm, yuck bug floating in it right a I poured. I said something to the girl at desk and she totally ignored so I'm waiting for all these workers to finish off that coffee and a fresh pot made! Hope you employees enjoyed it!! (Just look at that face, she has been wearing that look since I got here... really makes you feel welcome.) I should have figured considering how nasty the 4th floor, room 460, my husband was in. God I hope ICU is cleaner when I get there!

Spent all day Saturday May 30th with family taking rotations visiting a very sick family member. We all took shifts rotating in and out with her. During the day shift the ICU nursing staff was amazing. Especially Taylor; 10/10 yall need to give her a raise, bonus and some extra vacation days! We were there from around 10:30 until close to 6:30 and decided to head home and come back Sunday. Within shortly after leaving we were called and asked a few questions and told we should probably come back. We had just sat down to eat (we hadnβt eaten all day) so it was about an hour before we got back. We received no further communication from the hospital in that hour, so imagine our surprise and distress walking back into her room (including her only daughter) to find her deceased. Now normally I wouldβve been more understanding because it happened during shift change and youβd need to check on your other critical patients at the start of shift change. My cousin did talk to them to ask how this slipped through the cracks because we were blindsided, and to call out the charge nurse for having zero sympathy to the situation. (I would like to add the rest of the nurses were really nice) An

My mother was admitted. They must be short handed. In her room she requested a cup of water they said we'll get it to you. They didn't bring her one until the next morning. This hospital seems more concerned with the staff staying on there computer. It's hard to get them to come and help a fall risk patient. Ugh

My daughter attends HPU and was sent to HPMC ER by urgent care. I was extremely impressed by her care received in ED. Dr. M Hooven spoke with me by phone as I raced to get there as a concerned Mom. The staff was pleasant, educated, and efficient. Dr Hooven exhibits beautiful bedside manner and is extremely knowledgeable. He ordered all needed test and set up referrals STAT for next day follow up. I am an RN myself and very impressed at the care we received from this ED. Gold star Dr Hooven and staff! As we say at HPUβ¦Extraordinary!

So last night I took Michaela to the er because for the past week on three different nights she has been waking up throwing up. The first two nights I kind of over looked it because it could be a stomach virus but last night I was decided we gonna get this checked out but because of time restraints at work I decided to take her to the er. Because for one she has NOT had diarrhea no fever cough or runny nose she is only getting sick at night. Anyways she is assigned this young man as a provider and I left with more questions than I had walking in. I mean literally every question is answered with another question. Iβm on a pretty strict time frame so the last time she ate was around 8pm she woke up around 330ish. So I asked this provider wouldnβt her food be digested by now he says idk thatβs odd but I can prescribe her zofran. I asked for a blood test or should I say cbc test (exact words) and his reason for not doing that was literally the only clear answer I got through out the visit. When I mentioned how zofran is just to treat and not to find out what the issue is Assler here said well Iβm not going to find out tonight while shrugging his shoulders. I said wow out loud and his
